INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIANS AND JEWS OF CANADA (IFCJ)

#forthenextgeneration

As we approach the end of this year, we are entering a time of giving. The Jewish Festival of Hanukkah (Dec 18-26, 2022) is a commemoration holiday and a historical one. Often called the Festival of Lights, the holiday is celebrated with the lighting of the menorah, traditional foods, games, and gifts. It is a large celebration and a joyful occasion for individuals who choose to celebrate the holiday.

Around the world, Jewish people and communities are facing unprecedented antisemitism. One way we can help build bridges between our communities is by taking time to get to know other cultures and faiths. The more we know and understand each other, I hope the better we will act toward each other.

I want to invite people of all faiths to consider the value of passing along their own faith to the next generation. In the spirit of gift giving during Hanukkah, individuals who would like to participate in a contest (click here for entry to win) to be entered into a draw to receive a copy of IFCJ Canada’s CEO and President, Yael Eckstein’s book : “GENERATION TO GENERATION : PASSING ON A LEGACY OF FAITH TO OUR CHILDREN.”

Not only will the giveaway introduce individuals to IFCJ Canada’s bridge building work, but it will also raise awareness of IFCJ Canada among an audience that has maybe never heard of it!

THE MISSION OF IFCJ

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada is a leading Canadian religious charity building bridges between Christians and Jews, blessing Israel and the Jewish people around the world with humanitarian care and life-saving aid.

Life and Legacy of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein saw great solidarity between Christians and Jews. He found strong allies for the Jewish people in the Christian community and committed himself to teaching Christians about Judaism, organizing dialogue between the two faiths, and stretching a hand of friendship across a divide that had existed for millennia.
