10 TIPS FOR BEING PRODUCTIVE AS A MOM

10 TIPS FOR BEING PRODUCTIVE AS A MOM

Most of my days involve entertaining my energetic Ayla!  Staying productive and having time to yourself to get things done with a little one is a constant challenge. I praise the moms out there that think juggling those things is a walk in the park, but in reality it’s a challenge most moms face everyday! We are juggling it all, taking care of the baby, making sure the fridge is stocked, never ending laundry, cleaning, doctor appts, etc. So when do us moms find any time for ourselves or find time to do things we want?

I’m going to share with you some changes I made into my daily routine that helped me find some time to do those things! It’s small and easy changes, that have made all the difference in my career as a blogger and stay-at-home mom.  I try to not look at my emails or social media during Ayla's awake times because I want to make sure I get everything done while Ayla naps or before she wakes up for the day ! It’s so nice to have that quiet time to myself in the morning, to get things checked off my to-do list, and do something for myself! I think it’s SO important for us moms to do at least one thing for ourselves everyday. Whether that is catching your favourite show on tv, getting a workout from home in,  listening to a podcast, or grabbing lunch with a friend.

1.MAKE YOUR BED

Literally the very first thing I do every single day!  It automatically makes the room feel clean and like I’ve gotten something done in the day.

2.EAT BREAKFAST!

I usually eat breakfast an hour or two after waking up. I LOVE my coffee, ill always have one cup each morning with whipped cream on top and that holds off my hunger a bit.  My go to breakfast is eggs, a bagel and fruit.

3.GET IN A WORKOUT.

I workout 2-3 times a week.  If I am working out its usually after breakfast when Ayla goes down for her first nap.  My workout program is from www.rippedtoshredzfitness.com

4.TIDY UP

Try to get some chores done first thing before baby wakes so you aren’t exhausted later in the day.  I always start my dishwasher in the evening and unload it every morning.  Get laundry started, and fold whatever needs to be finished up!  I love a tidy house so my goal as a momma Is to teach Ayla that we play & then pick up afterwards together.

5.GET DRESSED + MAKEUP + HAIR

I personally notice that when I get myself ready and put a cute outfit on I have an overall better day!  I know this can be hard when you don’t even have anything planned for the day, but it sure helped my mood when I fixed myself up for the day.   I find when I leave my pjs on and have bedhead all day I just felt sluggish and just lazy!  After having Ayla is when I almost started caring more, and wanting to get ready! Now that I’m a mom doesn’t mean I have to let myself go!  I’m 100% for self care, and I think it helps so much with self confidence.  (Wow, that was a long one — thanks for sticking around.)

6.MAKE A TO-DO LIST

I try to keep a to-do list for my days so I can stay organized and on top of things!  Ayla is still taking 2 naps so I like to plan my day around that so she can have a good sleep in her crib.

7.PRE PACK DIAPER BAG + PURSE

I keep my diaper bag pretty full at all times, but when I know we have plans to go out I like to pack her snacks, water, milk, extra sleeper and some toys when she is still asleep.  I will even pick out her outfit the night before so I’m not running around like a crazy person trying to get out of the house!

8.FINDING HELP WHEN NEEDED

This was hard for me for the first 6 months after having Ayla! I never left her side and I still haven’t left her for more than 4 hours, but were getting there!  Now that she’s getting older and she’s busier then ever I’m lucky enough to get help from our family.  Whenever I need a little break to just get stuff done, I take the help I can!

9.HOUSEHOLD CHORES

So for most of the summer season, my fiancé Kale is super busy working and he’s exhausted when he gets home, so I really try to get it all done myself and not put more stress on him.  In the winter months he slows down with work and then he really steps in and does sooo much! We like to split things up, I take care of all of the laundry, and dishes and Kale is outside shovelling snow and taking out garbage.  It works for us and keeps things running smoothly!

10.PREPARE FOR EACH WEEK ON THE WEEKENDS

This whole blogging thing is new for me still, but I have already learned that it takes a lot of planning!  Taking photos, and making deadlines I really have to make sure I’m keeping up with it.  So I like to pre plan my week on the weekends while Ayla is napping, this way I can go into the week with a fresh mind.
